The Engine

I understand the engine was overhauled then "pickled". Here is the Log entry for the overhaul, it was signed off March 8, 1974 at Aircraft Engine Service, Spring City, PA. I will get some engine pictures and post them here.

The fairings

Joe had a number of aluminum fairings reworked or made new by D&D for the airplane. Here are some photos of what I saw at the shop. I understand there are more at the airport. These look to be the landing gear and the wing strut fairings.

Here are some of the new fairings next to the originals, they still need final trimming to size.

I will post the remaining fairing photos here after I get photos from the airport.

The Propeller

The project comes with this Hamilton Standard 2B20-15 propeller. It is stored in the attic of Joe's garage/shop so should just need freshening up.

I did not check the serial numbers to be sure but I think this is the overhaul tag for this propeller. I will check next time and update here.

According to this tag it has the Little Giant seal kit installed.

The Logs

The data plate.

Here is the all important permanent airworthiness certificate. This will save a lot of time , money and aggravation when this project is ready to fly. No conformity inspection required, just an IA sign off.

Here is the operating limitations dated Jan. 25, 1946.

This looks to be an original factory order sheet, however the equipment list may be a copy of the original. It's cool either way.

Here is the original equipment list and weight & balance.

The oldest airframe log, sadly the original Waco airframe log is missing. It starts May 16, 1939 with airframe total time of 586:20.

The Tail

The Wings

Here are some shots of the upper wings before restoration.

Here are some current shots after restoration.

The lower wings are still in the original pre-restoration cover.
